Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (10 ounces) frozen waffle cones
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Gently thaw the waffle cones according to package directions. If using immediately, you can briefly warm them in a low oven to make them slightly more pliable.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Step 3: Gently fold in the blueberries, strawberries, and sprinkles (and pecans, if using).
- Step 4: Fill each waffle cone with the whipped cream mixture, mounding slightly at the top.
- Step 5: Serve immediately or chill for later. If chilling, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- For best results, store assembled waffle cones in an airtight container to prevent them from becoming soggy.
- Reheat gently in a low oven for a few minutes to warm the waffle cone and soften the whipped cream slightly, if desired.
- Serve these festive treats with a side of fresh fruit or a drizzle of honey for an extra touch of sweetness and patriotism.
- To prevent overwhipping, carefully monitor the heavy cream as you add the powdered sugar, stopping once stiff peaks form to maintain the whipped cream’s light and airy texture.
