Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb mussels, scrubbed and debearded
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Step 1: In a bowl, toss the steak cubes with Cajun seasoning and olive oil. Season generously with salt and pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked to your desired doneness (approximately 5-7 minutes for medium-rare). Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Step 2: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Step 3: Add the mussels to the skillet and cook, covered, for 3-5 minutes, or until they open. Discard any mussels that do not open.
- Step 4: Pour in the white wine and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Step 5: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Stir in the cooked steak and chopped parsley.
- Step 6: Serve immediately, spooning the cheesy garlic mussel sauce over the steak bites.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat, adding a splash of white wine if the sauce becomes too thick.
- Serve with crusty bread for dipping into the delicious cheesy garlic mussel sauce.
- For extra flavor, marinate the steak cubes in the Cajun seasoning and olive oil for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
