Ingredients
- Chicken sausage, removed from casings: 1 pound
- Eggs: 8 large
- Milk: 1 cup
- Shredded cheddar cheese: 2 cups
- Diced onion: 1/2 cup
- Diced bell pepper (any color): 1/2 cup
- Bread, cubed: 6 cups
- Salt and pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: Cook chicken sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cooked sausage, onion, bell pepper, cheese (reserve 1/2 cup for topping), and cubed bread.
- Step 4: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
- Step 6: Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool slightly before serving.

- Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
