Delicious christmas bread recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 3 1/2 cups
  • Active dry yeast: 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Milk: 1 cup, warmed
  • Butter: 1/4 cup, melted
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Dried cranberries: 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Step 3: Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Incorporate dried cranberries during the last minute of kneading.
  4. Step 4: Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Step 5: Punch down the dough and shape it into a round or oval loaf. Place the loaf on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Step 6: Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • To keep your Christmas Bread fresh, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil and store at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For a delightful warming treat, toast a slice and spread with a touch of butter or cream cheese.
  • Serve your Christmas Bread as part of a festive brunch spread, alongside other holiday goodies.
  • When kneading, make sure the cranberries are evenly distributed in the dough to prevent overly sweet or tart bites.
