Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 3 1/2 cups
- Active dry yeast: 2 1/4 teaspoons
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Milk: 1 cup, warmed
- Butter: 1/4 cup, melted
- Eggs: 2 large
- Dried cranberries: 1 cup
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Step 3: Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Incorporate dried cranberries during the last minute of kneading.
- Step 4: Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Step 5: Punch down the dough and shape it into a round or oval loaf. Place the loaf on a greased baking sheet.
- Step 6: Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool completely before slicing.
