Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cottage cheese (low-fat or full-fat)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, thoroughly combine the cottage cheese, flour, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until a thick, uniform dough forms. If it seems too wet, add a tablespoon more flour at a time until it comes together.
- Step 2: Shape the dough into small, roughly 1/2-inch thick patties or small, thin logs. You can use your hands or a small spoon to form them.
- Step 3: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. The oil should be hot enough that a small piece of dough dropped in will sizzle immediately.
- Step 4: Carefully place the cottage cheese patties or logs into the hot skillet, leaving some space between each. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Step 5: Remove the cooked chips from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
- Step 6: Serve immediately and enjoy! These are best enjoyed fresh and crispy.
Notes
- Store leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, but their crispiness is best enjoyed fresh.
- For perfectly reheated chips, briefly re-crisp them in a dry skillet over medium heat for a minute or two until warmed through and slightly crunchy again.
- Serve these addictive chips alongside a vibrant salsa or your favorite creamy dip for a truly unforgettable snacking experience.
- To prevent sticking, lightly dust your hands with flour before shaping the cottage cheese mixture into patties, ensuring easy handling and perfectly formed chips.
