  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1214 lb Turkey
  • 1 whole bulb Garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Lemon, quartered

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Remove giblets from turkey cavity and pat turkey dry with paper towels.
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, olive oil, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  3. Step 3: Rub the garlic-herb mixture all over the turkey, under the skin of the breast, and inside the cavity.
  4. Step 4: Place lemon quarters inside the turkey cavity.
  5. Step 5: Place the turkey in a roasting pan. Roast for approximately 3-4 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh registers 165°F (74°C). Baste with pan juices every hour.

Notes

  • Store leftover turkey, tightly wrapped, in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • Reheat sliced turkey with a splash of broth to keep it moist and prevent it from drying out.
  • Serve this flavorful turkey with cranberry sauce and roasted root vegetables for a classic Thanksgiving feast.
  • For extra flavorful pan drippings, consider adding a chopped onion and carrot to the roasting pan during the last hour of cooking.
