Ingredients
- Beef Sirloin, thinly sliced: 1 pound
- Cooked Rice: 2 cups
- Soy Sauce: 1/4 cup
- Honey: 3 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced: 4 cloves
- Sesame Oil: 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon
- Green Onions, sliced: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, and cornstarch until well combined. This is your honey garlic sauce.
- Step 2: Add the thinly sliced beef to the honey garlic sauce. Toss to coat the beef evenly and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Step 3: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer (work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding) and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the beef is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
- Step 4: Divide the cooked rice evenly between two bowls.
- Step 5: Top the rice with the honey garlic beef.
- Step 6: Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover rice and beef separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat the beef gently in a skillet or microwave, adding a splash of water or broth to prevent it from drying out.
- For a complete meal, add steamed broccoli or other colorful vegetables to your bowl.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the beef to ensure it gets a good sear and doesn't steam.
