- 1 (11 ounce) package orange gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (15 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, dissolve the orange gelatin in the boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Step 2: Add the cold water and stir until well combined.
- Step 3: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the gelatin begins to set but is still slightly jiggly.
- Step 4: Once the gelatin has begun to set, gently fold in the thawed whipped topping, drained mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, and optional pecans and coconut.
- Step 5: Refrigerate for at least another hour, or until the dessert is completely set.
- Step 6: Serve chilled.
Notes
- Store leftover Orange Fluff Dessert Salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This dessert is best served chilled, but if it gets a little too firm, let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to soften slightly.
- For an extra special touch, garnish individual servings with a candied orange peel or a sprig of mint.
- To prevent the whipped topping from becoming too watery, ensure the gelatin is partially set before gently folding it in.
