Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 2: Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture and begin to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 3: Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
- Step 4: If using, pour in the white wine and let it simmer for a minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Step 5: Stir in the salt and pepper.
- Step 6: Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For best flavor, store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use within 2 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat to prevent the Parmesan from becoming rubbery.
- Serve these savory mushrooms as a delightful topping for grilled steak or mixed into a creamy pasta dish.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the mushrooms; work in batches if necessary to ensure they brown nicely instead of steaming.
